Depending on the version, BioClear, BioClear XL and BioClear Pro differ in filter volume, recommended pond size, cleaning mechanism and ease of maintenance. The appropriate version should be selected based on pond volume, fish stocking, pump output and maintenance requirements.

The BioClear pressure filter series is designed for pumped pond systems, combining a compact design with flexible installation at the pond. The purified water can be channelled further due to the pressure-resistant filter construction, for example, to a return, stream, waterfall or fountain stone.
Within the closed filter system, mechanical and biological filter stages work together. Dirt particles are retained by filter media, while biological filter areas support water quality during ongoing pond operation. The integrated UV-C unit additionally helps to clear green water caused by suspended algae.
The BioClear standard models are particularly suitable for small to medium-sized garden ponds. The BioClear XL models offer a larger filter volume for higher water volumes and greater dirt load. BioClear Pro expands the series with additional maintenance convenience through semi-automatic cleaning support.
For reliable functioning, filter size, pump output, stocking density, sunlight exposure, plant coverage, and maintenance intervals should be considered together. With higher fish or koi stocking densities, the filter should not be undersized.
